Watch Upgraded to Winter Storm Warning

High winds and 3 to 6 inches of snow are possible, which could create hazardous conditions.

Temperatures will remain in the mid 30s through Saturday. Rain and a snow mix is likely in our area.

The National Weather Service has upgraded its Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Storm Warning, in effect from midnight through 6 p.m. Saturday. Accumulations of 3 inches to 6 inches snow are possible, particularly in regions above 1,000 feet in altitude.

Forecasters predict rain at first, converting to snow in the predawn hours, with precipitation continuing into Saturday afternoon. The storm is expected to end by mid-afternoon. Temperatures will be in the mid 30s this evening and throughout the day on Saturday. Winds of 5 to 15 mph are expected from the north, with gusts up to 25 mph.

A winter storm warning mean significant mounts of snow are expected or occurring, with strong winds possible. Heavy snow and high winds could result in broken tree limbs and power outages as well as hazardous road conditions.
