75th Annual Ladies Board Rummage Sale, Oct 19 & 20

75th Annual Ladies Board Rummage Sale Moves to Weekend Event
Find Treasures on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20

The
Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital has set Saturday, Oct. 19 and
Sunday, Oct. 20 as the dates for the 75th Annual Ladies Board Rummage
Sale, held at Morven Park – Tutt Lane entrance, 41793 Tutt Lane (off
Route 15) in Leesburg. Hours will remain 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both
days.  Proceeds benefit Ladies Board projects and nursing scholarships.

“We’ve
been discussing a move to the weekend for a few years, but now the time
is right.  Loyal volunteers and shoppers signaled their support for a
Saturday opening and once we had that, it was an easy decision,”
commented Lisa Cromwell, co-chair of the Rummage Sale.  “Moving the sale
to a Saturday/Sunday event creates an opportunity for those who can’t
take off during the week to attend the sale.”

Admission is free
during regular sale hours, and the doors will open at 8 a.m. on
Saturday, Oct. 19 for the “Early Bird Hour.”  Early Bird tickets are $10
per person and are needed for anyone 12 years old or older before 9
a.m. Saturday. Ticket proceeds benefit the Polly Clemens Nursery Fund,
which is a Ladies Board project dedicated to providing for special needs
at the Inova Loudoun Hospital Nursery.

There are several new
twists this year including an expanded Silent Auction department.   “Our
shoppers enjoy the Silent Auction so we are pleased to announce that
space will be doubled this year,” added Sue Clewis, co-chair of the
Rummage Sale.  “We have some wonderful items including a vintage Mah
Jong set; an antique leather “doctor’s” bag; tickets to the Washington
Redskins/Dallas Cowboys game; golf at River Creek; and an overnight stay
at the Goodstone Inn.”  The Silent Auction will be held Saturday, Oct.
19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Shoppers can stash purchases at the
Bag Check hosted this year by the Boy Scouts of Loudoun County and take
in a quick bite from the Hamilton Ruritan’s food stand.  A shuttle
service will loop through the grounds all day on Saturday to aid
shoppers and volunteers in getting from one building to another.
Sunday is clearance day with most departments going 50% off and “bag
sales.”

Attracting shoppers from the mid-Atlantic region, this
40,000 square-foot shopping extravaganza offers almost everything
imaginable, including antiques, furniture, books, clothing, tools, yard
equipment, sports equipment, electrical and household items, designer
labels, holiday décor, toys and linens.  It might take both days just to
see everything!

Early Bird tickets are on sale now in Leesburg,
VA, at the following stores: Twice Is Nice thrift shop, 305 E Market
St; The Gift Shop at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway;
and the Black Shutter Antique Shop, 1 Loudoun Street, SW. For more
