Every Child Ready to Read: Early Literacy Workshop

Parents and caregivers play a critical role in developing language and early literacy skills in children. In this 1.5 hour workshop, we discuss the research supporting the importance of early involvement in your child's early literacy development and the relationship between shared reading experiences, language development and reading achievement; present 6 important skills that can help ensure that your child is ready to learn to read when s/he starts school; introduce Dialogic Reading as a powerful way to read picture books that will increase your child's language development and pre-reading skills; and learn games for enhancing phonological awareness.

For adults.

Registration required, beginning February 24th, at http://engagedpatrons.org/EventsExtended.cfm?SiteID=6457&EventID=186138&PK= or by calling 703-737-8100.
