Community Foundation for Northern Virginia Celebrates the Loudoun Impact Fund Grants Winners

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia will host an event on September 19th, 2013 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at Stone Tower Winery, 19925 Hogback Mountain Road, Leesburg, VA 20175, to celebrate the winners of the Loudoun Impact Fund grants.

Recently, the Loudoun Impact Fund awarded $50,000 to five nonprofit organizations in Loudoun County to support capacity building among Loudoun County nonprofits as well as programs that address the wellbeing of children and youth, specifically in the areas of mental health and substance abuse. Winners included Loudoun Cares, HealthWorks for Northern Virginia, Loudoun Citizens for Social Justice/LAWS, Loudoun Youth, and NAMI Northern Virginia.

The September 19th event will both celebrate the Loudoun Impact Fund grant winners and help introduce the Loudoun Impact Fund to other Loudoun based donors and community leaders.

“As a member of the Loudoun Impact Fund and the owner of Stone Tower Vineyards, I am delighted to be hosting this event to help celebrate community based philanthropy in Loudoun County,” says Mike Huber, Proprietor of Stone Tower Vineyards and CEO of Belfort Furniture of Sterling, VA. “The Loudoun Impact Fund has the potential to have a large impact on local nonprofits by engaging many more Loudoun based individual and corporate donors in local philanthropy.”

The Loudoun Impact Fund is a new giving circle run by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia that is exclusive to Loudoun County citizens, corporations and service organizations. It was established to invest strategically in Loudoun County to promote education, the arts and the environment, and to support the needs of Loudoun families, children and youth. Members of the Loudoun Impact Fund pool their membership fees and together determine which causes to support. Members then review grant applications and make grant recommendations from the Loudoun Impact Fund.  To learn more or to become a member, visitwww.cfnova.org/loudoun or call 703-879-7635.
