Fundraiser to Remember Jamie Rowley with Memorial Park Bench

Runner died after she was struck by a car during a morning job in March.

Friends and family of Jamie Rowley hope to remember the avid runner with a memorial park bench planned near the intersection where she was hit by a car in March.

Rowley was struck at the corner of Claiborne Parkway and Waxpool Road. She died later at an area hospital.

The new bench will be placed on property owned by Our Saviors Way Lutheran Church in Broadlands near the intersection, according to Leesburg Today, and it will be maintained by The Broadlands HOA.

The cost to purchase the bench is $4,000. Donate here.

Another fundraiser to support Rowley's two daughters, set up soon after her death, has raised more than $115,000 through GoFundMe, an online fundraising website.

Friends and family have also created the Run For Jamie Foundation to raise runner safety awareness and to support other children who have suffered a loss of a parent.
