Loudoun County Sheriffs to Issue "Slurpee Tickets" for Good Deeds

7-Eleven is partnering with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office to reward positive behavior with free Slurpee coupons through the 'Operation Chill' program.

If you see a Loudoun County Sheriff "ticketing" your youngsters, they were probably "caught in the act" of doing a good deed.

As part of the Operation Chill program, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and 7-Eleven stores will start rewarding positive behavior with Slurpee beverage coupons. Helping another person, wearing a helmet while riding a bike or volunteering around the community are among the "offenses" that can be rewarded with a coupon for a small Slurpee drink at participating 7-Eleven stores.

“This is a great opportunity for our deputies to have a positive interaction with young people in a non-law-enforcement situation,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman. “Ultimately, we want everyone to have a safe and fun summer,” added Sheriff Chapman.

Since 1995, 7-Eleven, Inc. has used Operation Chill as a tool to encourage children who are already out and about during the hot summer months to exhibit positive behavior and build relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
