LTE: Despite Donors' Generosity, Many in Loudoun Remain in Need

Loudoun Interfaith Relief, which helps feed those in need, sends a thank you and a request for additional donations.

Dear Editor and Friends of Loudoun Interfaith Relief;

The holidays are supposed to be a time of hope and happiness, but for those struggling with hunger the holidays are another day where they don’t know where their next meal will come from. Can you imagine? Right here, in our community, that is a reality for so many of our neighbors.

Each day we open our doors to Loudoun community members in need. I struggle with the fact that there is a need for our services in the wealthiest county in the nation. I am however, astounded at the generosity and kindness that our community has been able to provide. It gives me such pleasure to thank you all for your contributions to support Loudoun Interfaith Relief. So many families, organizations, businesses, grocery stores and faith based organizations have helped us meet the needs of our community.

The families we are serving are facing such difficult times. So many people are still trying to find employment and hold on to what is left of their dreams. Your gracious support will help someone not only feed their family, but will also help to maintain their dignity and restore their hope.

I ask you to please continue to support Loudoun Interfaith Relief. We need help from our community in order to continue to feed the hungry in Loudoun County; now more than ever as our community continues to grow.
