Pumpkins Are A-Plenty; Where Will You Get Yours?

With Halloween and Thanksgiving approaching, the big orange relatives to the gourd are on many minds.

Looking for a pumpkin right off the vine? Or maybe just a big pumpkin party? 

Loudoun’s got a few to choose from. The list below includes farms and parks with some type of Halloween or pumpkin theme. There are also plenty of places to get a pumpkin from the local grocer to the farmers who have set up in community shopping centers.

Cox Farms

2013 Dates: Sept. 28-Nov. 5; Nov. 2-3 is Pumpkin Madness Weekend. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The festival includes 5 giant slides, hayrides, rope swings, farm animals and their babies, CORNundrum cornfield adventure, straw tunnels, Farm Chores, Kiddie Zone, goat village, apples & cider, food, entertainment, over 90 acres of fun! Leesburg Animal Park

Pumpkinville is open Sept. 21-Nov. 5, 2013, 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. (5 p.m. after Daylight Savings). The farm play area includes an Indian teepee, giant slides, a hay maze, unlimited hayrides, straw mountains, tot maze, rope swings, tractors to climb on, a large inflated firetruck slide, moon bounces and more.

Ticonderoga Farms
