Meet LJ: Brown-Eyed Girl

LJ is a sweet little Dachshund mix who needs a person to call her own. She's happiest when she's by your side and is always up for a new adventure.

Hi! My name is Lady Jane, but I go by LJ. I'm a five-year-old, 23 pound Dachshund mix with beautiful brown eyes and am the picture of cuteness. I'm a people dog - I just want to be with my person and follow my foster mom around everywhere. She says I'm a great combo of couch potato and playful. I will snuggle up on the couch with you like a lap dog or sneak under the covers at night, but I'm always up for a walk or car ride, and love to play fetch and chew on my squeaky toys.

I've already been potty-trained, I walk well on a leash, and I'm great in the car. I'm always up for a new adventure, and my foster mom has done a great job socializing me and exposing me to different situations.  We go to the dog park regularly, to the pet store to pick out new treats, and she even takes me with her to work sometimes.

I don't like to be left alone for long periods of time, so I would be happiest with someone who works from home or is home more often than not. I would love a fenced yard, but I'm ok without one as long as we go on a few walks a day. I'm great with people, cats, and other dogs, but would prefer to be the only dog in the house, and would do best in a home that does not have really young children. I'm so cute that small children may want to pick me up and carry me around, and that makes me a little nervous. I want to be the object of your attention, and will be your loyal companion in return.

I'm a really sweet, gentle pup who will make someone or a family a wonderful companion. Do you have room in your heart and home for me?
