Donald J. Fergus, 59, of Leesburg, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 17, 2014.
He was born in Montreal, Canada on July 29th to the late John J. Fergus and to Elizabeth Kellum.
Don lived in Orange County, California before moving to New York City where he met his wife of 32 years, Kathleen. His career in technology allowed Don and Kathleen to see the world, even allowing them to live in Brussels and London before settling them in Leesburg, where they have lived for the past seven years. He has spent the past two years as the Chief Technology Officer for Patriot Technologies.
He was a member of the Masons and the Moose Lodge. Don’s Canadian roots made him an avid hockey fan, always cheering on his favorite team, the Washington Capitals. He loved his CTSV car and looked forward to Friday night pizza from Fireworks with his wife.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen; mother, Elizabeth Kellum; sisters, Cheryl Fergus and Judi Carboni; nieces, Lindsey, Stacey and Kim; and many loving family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel. Friends are welcome to join the family following the service at the Moose Lodge, 43 Catoctin Circle Se, Leesburg, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, due to the sudden and unexpected nature of his departure, contributions to assist his surviving spouse during this transitional period would be appreciated.
