Elva Mae Moore, age 76, passed from this life on March 11, 2014 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia. Elva was born May 27, 1937 to Marvin and Becky Harrison in Lost Creek, West Virginia. 

She was baptized on April 9, 1944 at the Lost Creek Methodist Church. She attended Lost Creek High School and graduated from West Virginia Business College on November 21, 1956. From there she began a 30 year career with the Communication Workers of America as a Confidential Secretary from which she eventually retired. Mae married Retired Army Sergeant Major Leon Theis “LT” Moore in November 1986, and they enjoyed 24 wonderful years together until his death in January 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Becky Harrison, brother Lee Harrison, sister Virginia Hartman, and husband Leon “LT” Moore.

She is survived by her children; John T. Latta and wife Tanya of Berryville, Virginia, James D. Latta of Craigsville, Virginia, Robin L. Grey and husband Thomas of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Rebecca A. Campbell and husband Johnny of Coalgate, Oklahoma, and Justin Moore and wife Jennifer of Aurora, Colorado. Her grandchildren; John Matthew Schlachter, Shane Patrick Grey, Haleigh Morgan Grey, Brittnay Reann Campbell, Patrick Kaylor, Andrew Luketic, Daniel Braithwaite, Rocco Moore, and Jacoby Moore. Her great grandchildren; Neveah Cyr and Preston Zeke Campbell.

Mae was a devoted wife, loving mother, beloved grandmother, and caring friend. She loved the beach, cracking crabs, travelling the country and dancing with “LT”. Her children and grandchildren were the sunshine in her day and she loved making them smile. She was a blessing in the lives of all that knew her and will be deeply missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, Virginia. All friends and family are welcome to attend. Condolences may be sent to colonialfuneralhome.com
