Community Corner

Beaverdam Reservour closing

I think that  Loudoun Water should have done more research and reached out for community feedback before unilaterally closing the lake for 4 years. BOOM! A news release and now everyone in the area is at risk for ticketing or arrest for an area that has been a resource to us all for years? No hiking no fishing no birdwatching. Sure close the dams and restrict that area, but there is a hell of alot of shoreline that is going to be impossible to patrol. Why is Loudoun Water setting this up to be a confrontational situation? Why werent there feedback sessions? Why will only homeowners who live on the lake have access, that is exceedingly not fair. Who are the elected individuals who made this decision so we may contact them with our displeasure? Our water and sewer rates are some of the highest in Virginia,,,,,we need better communication about our SHARED resources.
