Arrest Made in Great Falls Chase Shooting Incident

Loudoun deputies charged Sterling resident Benjamin A. Misanin, 22, with trespassing, brandishing a firearm and discharging a firearm in a dwelling after an Aug. 6 incident in Sterling. According to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Misanin displayed a gun in a home on the 20900 block of Chippoaks Forest Circle around 5 a.m. and a struggle followed with another person. The gun fired, wounding the person with non-life-threatening injuries. Read the initial report here.
Other significant incidents reported by the Eastern Loudoun Sheriff's Station:
- Larceny: A victim reported that an unknown subject entered an unsecured locker and removed a car key on the 21000 block of Dulles Town Center between 11:15 a.m. and 12:04 p.m. Aug. 1. The victim discovered that someone entered the car, took a wallet, and then used the victim’s credit card at two area locations.
- Assault: A man told authorities that two people assaulted him when he tried to evict the residents of an apartment on the 300 block of East Cornell Drive Aug. 1. One of the suspects displayed a knife and the men took cash from the victim’s wallet. Deputies charged James E. Carter Jr., 28, with robbery. Carter, of Sterling, was taken to the county jail. The incident remains under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
- Destruction of Property: A resident observed a subject running down the side of their house in the area of Tyler Lane and Minor Road between 10 p.m. and 11:05 p.m. Aug. 6. Deputies charged three people with destruction of property and petit larceny for damaging and removing street signs.
