Ashburn Crime: Marijuana and Firearms Charges Among Incidents

Destroyed mailboxes and suspicious activities also reported during the past three weeks.

Traffic Stop/Possession of Marijuana/Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
After stopping a vehicle for defective equipment near the corner of Gloucester Parkway and Rainsboro Drive at 7:13 p.m. Sept. 21, a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputy discovered a gun in the possession of a felon and marijuana. The 20-year-old Leesburg woman driving the vehicle was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, while the deputy charged her passenger, Thomas W. Singleton Jr., 30, of Woodbridge, with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Suspicious Event
A resident reported seeing two juveniles walking in the area of 43900 block of Indian Fields Court at 10:08 p.m. Sept. 22. The juveniles walked up the driveway of the residence and attempted to open the passenger door of the vehicle. The resident confronted the juveniles and they fled the area on foot. The area was checked and no juveniles were located.

Suspicious Person/Event
A resident reported seeing an unknown subject attempting to enter the rear door of a home on the 45000 block of University Drive at 4 a.m. Sept. 14. The subject was described as a black male wearing an orange hat. The area was searched and no subject matching this description was located.

Destruction of Property
Twenty-six mailboxes were damaged in the area of Chickacoan Trail Drive, Vestals Gap Road, Glebe View Road and Sturman Place between Sept. 24 and Sept. 25.

Destruction of Property
An unknown person or persons reportedly threw a golf ball at a parked vehicle, causing damage, on the 20400 block of Hazleton Way at 5:06 p.m. Sept. 23.
