Motorcycle Crash Leads to DUI Charge
Emergency workers airlifted a 62-year-old Ashburn man to Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries Oct. 9 after crashing his motorcycle along Sycolin Road.
Deputies received a call about the crash at 10:26 p.m. and determined the man was heading eastbound on his 2000 Harley-Davidson left the south side of the road just west of Murray's Ford Bridge. After leaving the road, the man struck a sign. The rider wore a novelty helmet not labeled for highway use.

Alcohol was involved, according to the sheriff's office report, and the man was charged with a DUI.

- A resident reported hearing someone attempt to open their front door on the 19700 block of Willowdale Place at 7:57 p.m. Oct. 7. Nothing suspicious located.
- An unknown person, or persons, removed a stop sign and laid it across a vehicle on the 42900 block of Elizey Drive at 7:43 a.m. Oct. 8. There was no visible damage. The stop sign was replaced.
- An 11-year-old female reported she was walking in the area of 43300 block of Vestals Place at 7:55 a.m. Oct. 12 when she observed a male following her. The subject never made contact with the child. The man was described as White or Hispanic, 6-feet-tall, with brown medium length hair, and wearing all black. The incident was reported on Oct. 13.
