Ashburn Crime Report: Police Seek Help Finding CountrySide Graffiti Culprits

In other reports: traffic stop leads to a concealed weapon charge and a stolen vehicle was recovered.

Countryside Graffiti
Loudoun County Crime Solvers and the CountrySide Proprietary are offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in a series of graffiti cases in the Sterling area.

Since late July there have been ten reported cases of graffiti in the CountrySide and Cascades communities. The graffiti includes the letters “RHB” and the wording “Eye of Beholder.” The most recent cases occurred between Oct. 6-7 when graffiti was located on playground equipment near CountrySide Boulevard at Minor Road and on a utility box at McPherson Circle.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact Deputy R. Ortutay of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Community Resource Unit at 703-430-0715, ext. 17.

Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If the information leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Additionally, the CountrySide Proprietary is offering a $500 reward.

Recovered Stolen Auto
An impounded vehicle recovered on the 44800 block of Old Ox Road at 12:39 p.m. Oct. 14 was determined to have been stolen. The vehicle was initially reported stolen from the area of Markwood Drive on Oct. 8.

Concealed Weapon
After initiating a traffic stop at 12:07 a.m. Oct. 15 because of a malfunctioning headlight at the intersection of Farmwell Road and Estate Place, the deputy learned the driver had a firearm concealed inside the vehicle without a permit. The driver, a 25-year-old Springfield man, was charged with possession of a concealed weapon.

Attempted Larceny/Burglary
Deputies charged 41-year-old Arlington man with two counts of grand larceny and attempted grand larceny in connection with thefts of televisions from a store on the 45100 block of Columbia Place at 6:03 p.m. Oct. 19.
