Ashburn Crime Report: Suspicious Men Approach Boy, Woman Dies in Accident

Men in White Pickup Approach Boy in Ashburn

A stranger in a white pickup truck reportedly approached an 8-year-old boy playing in his driveway on the 43500 block of Osage Court in Ashburn around 4 p.m. Feb. 1 and asked him to get into the vehicle, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. The child ran home and told a parent. The parent did not see the suspect vehicle.

A neighbor reported seeing a pickup truck in the area. The truck was described as a low riding, older model, white two-door with a loud muffler. Two white males in their 20s were said to have been in the truck.

Ashburn Woman Dies from Jan. 25 Accident

An 81-year-old Ashburn woman died Feb. 1 from injuring sustained during a Jan. 25 automobile accident along Gloucester Parkway.

The victim, who was driving a 1995 Saturn, failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming vehicle as she attempted to take a left from eastbound Gloucester onto Runnymeade Terrace around 12:30 p.m., according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

A 61-year-old Pennsylvania woman was driving the 2005 Toyota Rav 4 that collided with the Saturn. The Rav 4 driver was injured.

Incidents of burglary, larceny and destruction of property

  • Two laptops were reported taken from a vehicle on the 43600 block of Frost Court in Ashburn between 11 p.m. Jan. 24 and 6 a.m. Jan 25. The vehicle’s front window was damaged.
  • The driver’s side window of a vehicle on the 43600 block of Frost Court in Ashburn was reported damaged with a rock between 11 p.m. Jan. 24 and 6 a.m. Jan. 25. Nothing was reported taken.
  • The rear sliding glass door of a home on the 43200 block of Katie Leigh Court in Ashburn was reported damaged in an apparent attempt to gain entry at 6:52 p.m. Jan. 29. No items were reported missing.
  • Two laptops, a small amount of cash and an mp3 player were reported taken from two vehicles on the 43700 block of Woodworth Court in Ashburn between 11 p.m. Jan. 26 and 7 a.m. Jan. 27. The rear windows were damaged.
  • A vehicle’s paint was reported “keyed” on the 43600 block of Greenway Corporate Drive in Ashburn at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
  • The rear window of a car on the 19200 block of Promenade Drive in Lansdowne was reported damaged around 2:15 a.m. Feb. 3. Nothing was reported taken.
