Ashburn Man Assaulted by Late-Night Line Cutters

Incidents from the past week as reported by the Loudoun Sheriff's University Station.

Line Cutters Assault Ashburn Man at Restaurant

Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, a 49-year-old Ashburn man confronted two males and a female who had cut in line ahead of him at a fast food restaurant in Ashburn Shopping Plaza. The victim was then struck and pulled to the ground before the female suspect assaulted him. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and reviewing surveillance tape.

  • Unintentional Shooting: Deputies responded to the area of Hunters Green Square and Falling Rock Terrace at 8:05 a.m. July 20 for a report of a male who unintentionally discharged a firearm while breaking down the weapon. The victim was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • Burglary: A DVD player, jewelry and cash were reported stolen from an apartment on the 21800 block of Blossom Hill Terrace between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. July 15.
  • Destruction of Property: A vehicle was reported damaged by scratching on the 44000 block of Cheltenham Circle at 8:27 a.m. July 25.
  • Destruction of Property: The rear window of a vehicle was reported damaged on the 44000 block of Riverside Parkway between 10:45 a.m. and 11:10 p.m. July 21.
  • Larcenies: At least six incidents of items taken from cars, most of which were unlocked, were reported between July 19 and July 26 in the University Station service area. One incident occurred as groceries were carried inside, and during another a residents witnessed three individuals fleeing the scene. In addition, a bicycle was taken from a yard.
