Crime Report: Thefts Continue in Ashburn

Larceny and destruction of property continue as highest reported crimes in community.

Possession Stolen Property, Marijuana

Deputies filed several charges against Kevin P. King, 19, of Ashburn, April 1 after reportedly catching him with stolen property. A caller reported to the sheriff’s office that subjects were entering vehicles in the area of Florence Terrace between 10:30 p.m. March 31 and 8 a.m. April 1. Deputies the located a vehicle occupied by King on the 44100 block of Ashburn Village Shopping Plaza. Deputies charged King with two counts of possession of stolen property, one misdemeanor possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana. King was taken to the Loudoun Adult Detention Center. The case remains under investigation.

  • An unsecured gas can was reported taken from a home on the 19400 block of Promenade Drive in the Lansdowne Town Center between 4 p.m. March 16 and 9 a.m. March 22.
  • An MP3 player and tool kit were reported taken from a vehicle on the 44200 block of Mossy Brook Square in Ashburn Village between 9:15 p.m. March 23 and 10 a.m. March 24.
  • A personal identification was reported taken from a vehicle on the 20500 block of Coppersmith Drive off Hay Road between 8:30 p.m. March 29 and 7:30 a.m. March 30.
  • An external light fixture was reported taken from building on the 45000 block of Brae Terrace on March 30.
  • A GPS was reported taken from a vehicle on the 21000 block of Stonecrop Place between 4:30 p.m. April 2 and 5 a.m. April 3.

Larcenies from Construction Sites

  • Tools were reported taken from a utility trailer on the 19800 block of Belmont Ridge Road between noon March 2 and 10:32 a.m. March 25.
  • Tools were reported taken from a trailer on the 19800 block of Belmont Ridge Road between 9:30 March 23 and 10 a.m. March 26.
  • Molding was reported taken from a home under construction on the 42200 block of Wythridge Court between 2 p.m. March 26 and 6:30 a.m. March 29.
  • Copper wire was reported taken from a construction site on the 24100 block of Evergreen Mills Road between 3 p.m. March 31 and 6 a.m. April 2.
  • Tools and copper wire were reported taken from a construction site on the 44600 block of Guildford Drive between 5 p.m. March 31 and 6 a.m. April 3.
  • Aluminum concrete form panels were reported taken from a home under construction on the 42700 block of Macauley Place between 6:30 p.m. April 2 and 7:30 p.m. April 3.

Vehicle Recovered

Loudoun County Sheriff’s deputies determined an abandoned vehicle reported near Lexington Drive and Smith Circle at 12:41 p.m. March 28 was the vehicle taken March 24 from the 20300 block of Cool Fern Square.

Destruction of Property Incidents

  • Profanity was reported scratched into the hood of a vehicle on the 20400 block of Cool Fern Square between 8 p.m. March 20 and 6 a.m. March 21.
  • The exterior of a vehicle was reported scratched on the 20400 block of Cool Fern Square between 8 p.m. March 20 and 6 a.m. March 21.
  • A driver reported that another driver became aggressive after an accident along the 25200 block of Loudoun County Parkway at 6:08 p.m. March 27. The first driver reported that the suspect damaged their driver’s side door.
  • A sliding glass door was reported damaged on the 21700 block of Oakville Terrace between 10:30 p.m. March 31 and 7 p.m. April 3.
