Ashburn Teen Faces Sexual Battery, Abduction Charges

The charges came after alleged incident Tuesday at Broad Run High School.

An Ashburn teen was arrested Wednesday and faces charges of aggravated sexual battery and abduction with the intent to defile after a Tuesday incident at Broad Run High School, according to information just released from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The 15-year-old suspect’s name has not been released because he is a juvenile.

The teenager, a student at the school, allegedly grabbed a female student around 4 p.m. March 12 and pulled her into an empty hallway against her will, according to the report.

The victim was able to escape and flee. The victim reported the incident to an LCSO School Resource Officer assigned to the school, and the department’s Criminal Investigations Division became involved.

As of Friday morning, the suspect was being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center.

Loudoun County Public Schools spokesman Wayde Byard said the school was preparing a message to send to parents.

The previous information was supplied by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and, where charges were made, does not indicate a conviction. For questions about this article, email dusty@patch.com.
