Bold Robberies Rock Countryside Neighborhood

Suspects entered several vehicles and two homes and removed a vehicle from Blue Heron Terrace.

Friday morning, Sept. 16, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 20400 block of Blue Heron Terrace for a report of several car break-ins, two home burglaries and one stolen vehicle. 

According to a release from sheriff’s office, the series of “bold” burglaries where the result of suspects checking vehicle doors and rummaging through the unlocked vehicles. Vehicles with locked doors were left undisturbed.

The suspects also checked the front doors of several houses and entered two that were unlocked. In one of the houses, the burglars found keys to and stole a dark blue 2006 Infinity M35X 4-door bearing Virginia license plates XRN-4115

While such vehicle tampering is not unusual, investigators are concerned about the boldness exhibited by entering occupied homes. The Sheriff’s Office reminds residents that the first line of defense against these “crimes of opportunity” is a locked door.

Investigators entered vehicles into the national and state databases, but had not been located as of Friday afternoon. No additional reports about the car have been issued. The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator R. Bennett at 703-777-0475.
