Crime Report: Charges Follow Sycolin Road/Ashburn Farm Parkway Accident

Incidents from the past week as reported by the Loudoun Sheriff's University Station.

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies charged one driver in a June 22 two-vehicle crash at Belmont Ridge Road’s intersection with Sycolin Road/Ashburn Farm Parkway, causing a road closure for several hours.

Around 6:30 p.m., Berryville resident Judith Johnson Massey, 60, attempted to turn left in a 2004 Ford Explorer from Belmont Ridge onto Sycolin westbound after the traffic signal turned yellow, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office. Graham Winner Parker, 25, of Leesburg entered the intersection in a 2009 BMW just as the signal turned from green to yellow, according to the report, which stated that several witnesses stopped to offer accounts of the accident.

Massey was wearing a seatbelt and the front airbags deployed in the Explorer. She was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital where she was listed in stable condition as of June 22.  Parker, who had also been wearing his seatbelt and whose front airbag deployed, was ground transported to Inova Loudoun Hospital and then flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he was listed in critical condition on June 22.

Deputies charged Massey with disregarding a traffic signal while entering an intersection from a stopped position after the signal had changed.

  • Suspicious Event: An unfamiliar vehicle approached a 15-year-old female walking along the 19200 block of Mill Site Place at 10 p.m. June 22 and the driver vehicle whistled at teen. The vehicle was described as light tan or rust in color. The driver was described as a Hispanic male, possibly in his 20s. His head was shaved. Loudoun County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle in the area, which they determined not to be related to the incident.
  • Burglary: Three juveniles – one 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds – have been identified as suspects in a burglary at the clubhouse in Belmont Country Club on the 20070 block of Medalist Drive at 3:40 p.m. June 22. Petitions are pending.  
  • Malicious Wounding: Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a stabbing on the 20600 block of Breezyhill Drive at 11:38 p.m. June 24. Ashley E. Floyd-Pickett, 30, of Ashburn was charged with malicious wounding in the assault of a family member. Floyd-Pickett remains held without bond. The victim was taken to of Inova Loudoun Hospital where he was treated and released.
  • Unlawful Entry: A resident was in their open garage when an unknown subject walked into garage on the 43600 block of Riverpoint Drive at 12:45 a.m. June 25. The resident yelled and the suspect fled towards Upper Belmont Place. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
  • Destruction of Property: A 1990 Hesston tractor was reported damaged on the 41500 block of Cochran Mill Road between 5 p.m. June 25 and 5 p.m. June 27.
