Crime Report: Man Brandishes Broken Bottle in Restaurant, Flees

Recent incidents as reported by the Sheriff's Eastern Loudoun Station.

Deputies responded to a report of a fight at a restaurant in Great Falls Plaza at 10:50 p.m. July 25. An unknown subject confronted a man, grabbed a bottle, broke it and brandished it towards the victim. The suspect then fled the restaurant prior to the arrival of law enforcement. 

Other incidents reported from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Eastern Loudoun Station:

  • Grand Larceny: Deputies responded to a report of a larceny from a department store on the 21200 block of Signal Hill Plaza at 6:04 p.m. July 25. An unknown white female reportedly left the store in a gray Jeep after taking merchandise. A responding deputy located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. Merchandise, a small amount of suspected marijuana and other items were recovered. Ashley R. Towle, 27, of Reston was charged with grand larceny, possession of burglarious tools, driving without a license and possession of marijuana. A Loudoun County Magistrate released Towle on a personal recognizance bond.
  • Assault: Deputies responded to a restaurant for a report of an assault on the 20700 block of Great Falls Plaza at 10:50 p.m. July 25. An unknown subject confronted another patron. The subject grabbed a bottle, broke it and brandished it towards the victim. The subject fled the restaurant prior to the arrival of law enforcement.  
  • Auto Theft: Deputies received a report of a stolen 2003 Honda Accord on the 46900 block of Shady Point Square at 2:19 a.m. July 28. The owner had previously reported keys from the vehicle being stolen. The keys were reported missing on July 7, 2011. Deputies responding to the scene located the vehicle in the area and a traffic stop was initiated. Three juvenile males, ages 14, 15, and 16 were taken to the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center.
  • Larceny: Two 18-year-olds and a 17-year-old were walking on the 47300 block of Darkhollow Falls Terrace at 12:15 a.m. July 30 when they were approached by two subjects. An altercation ensued and the two subjects took the victim’s hats. Jonzel M. Bailey, 19, of Sterling, and Joshua E. Bowles, 20, of Sterling, were both charged with grand larceny. Bailey was held on a $1,000 secured bond. Bowles was released on a $1,000 bond. 
  • Assault: A 31-year-old victim reported that a known person assaulted him and stole his wallet on the 300 block of East Cornell Drive at 1:08 a.m. Aug 1. The incident remains under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
