Crime Report: Motorcycle Crash Requires Medivac Lift from Route 15

Check out this week's update from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office South Station.

Route 15 was closed just south of Route 50 for one hour Monday evening when a 52-year-old Herndon man riding a 2004 motorcycle south on Route 15 crashed into the back of a 2002 Lexus RX350. The Lexus was driven by a 19-year-old female from Castleton, VA. The Lexus was reportedly slowing down due to slowing traffic. The impact threw the rider off of the motorcycle. The rider was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The rider was wearing a helmet.

Other incidents reported from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office South Station:

  • Brandishing: A resident reported he was driving in the area of Gum Spring Road and Braddock Road at 1 p.m. June 10 when a red pick-up truck began tailgating his vehicle. As the two vehicles approached a red traffic signal, the driver of the pickup exited his vehicle and approached the driver’s door of the complainant. The complainant believed the subject was brandishing a firearm. The complainant drove away when the traffic signal turned green.  The subject was described as a white male in his 40s and was wearing a sleeveless shirt, shorts and a khaki hat.
  • Larceny: A laptop, tablet and GPS were reported taken from a vehicle on the 43000 block of Barons Street between 10 p.m. June 10 and 9:30 a.m. June 11.
  • Burglary: Deputies responded to the 43800 block of Paramount Place at 3:40 a.m. June 10 after a resident heard their garage door open. Two subjects were located in the area. Alicia E. Johnson, 30, of Woodbridge was charged with larceny and driving on a suspended license. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Burglary: Cash and numerous cell phones were removed from the AT&T Store on the 43000 block of Peacock Market Plaza between 2 a.m. June 12 and 6:47 a.m. June 13. A glass door was damaged to gain entry. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.
  • Larceny: A video game system was reported taken from a work van on the 22500 block of Lost Creek Terrace between 6 p.m. June 12 and 9:30 a.m. June 13. A door lock was damaged to gain entry.
  • Destruction of Property: A wooden fence was spray-painted with graffiti on the 43100 block of Unison Knoll Circle between 2 p.m. June 8 and 12:30 p.m. June 13.
  • Burglary: A laptop, two televisions and other electronics were reported taken from the Arcola Methodist Church on the 24700 block of Evergreen Mills Road between 2:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. June 13.
  • Larceny: A box containing a recently purchased shed was reported taken from the Worship Center Assembly of God on the 19200 block of Gleedsville Road between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. June 13.
  • Burglary: A front glass window of the Dulles Urgent Care facility on the 42000 block of Village Center Plaza was reported damaged at 4:41 a.m. June 16. Entry was made but nothing was reported missing.
  • Destruction of Property: Scrap metal was reported taken from a construction site on the 41500 block of Sacred Mountain Street between 5 p.m. June 14 and 5:30 a.m. June 16. Items were also damaged inside the building under construction.
  • Destruction of Property: The front upper level window of a residence was reported damaged on the 42600 block of Homefront Terrace 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. June 16.
