Crime Report: Deputy Assaulted, Charges Pending after Ashburn Fight

Assaulting Officer, Other Charges Pending after Belmont Greene Fight

Deputies responded to a home near Nashua Street and Starry Night Alley in the Belmont Greene community at 11:49 p.m. Dec. 14 for a report of an assault in progress. Two males were seen fighting in the driveway when deputies arrived. Both men and another person at the scene fled on foot. One of the men assaulted a deputy who attempted to stop him, and broke free. That person, Jordan West, 20, of Ashburn, was taken to the Emergency Room of Inova Loudoun Hospital and later transferred to Inova Fairfax Hospital for injuries. It was not clear whether the injuries occurred during the fight or during the arrest. Charges are pending against West for assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, underage possession of alcohol and drunk in public. He was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. A second 20-year-old Ashburn man was detained in the area of Charter Oak Drive by a deputy arriving on the scene and charged with drunk in public and underage possession of alcohol.

Suspicious Male Approaches Juvenile in Ashburn Village

A 9-year-old boy had run ahead of his 12-year-old sibling along the 20200 block of Birdsnest Place around 4:45 p.m. Dec. 17 when the driver of an unknown SUV stopped to ask the boy if he was OK and needed a ride. The child ran back to his sibling and the vehicle made no further contact with the children. The driver was described as a white male, bald with a muscular build driving a dark-colored SUV.

BB Gun Leads to Weapons Charge at Southern Walk

Concerned workers at a business in Southern Walk Plaza reported to authorities that someone appeared to be carrying a concealed weapon in the shopping center. The weapons turned out to be a BB gun. Deputies arrested the person and charged him with a concealed weapon violation.

Owner Detains Suspect in Vehicle Tampering Incident

Deputies responded to the 20400 block of Altavista Way at 8:56 p.m. Dec. 15 for a vehicle tampering in progress. The owner of the vehicle detained one person, while another fled on foot. Deputies charged a 20-year-old from Ashburn with vehicle trespassing.

Sebring Taken from Mallard Court

A burgundy 2000 Chrysler Sebring was reported stolen from the 20 block of Mallard Court between 7:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Dec. 16.
