Driver Charged With DUI After Crashing Into LCSO Cruisers

The Ashburn man struck two law enforcement vehicles that had their lights activated.

An Ashburn man faces DUI charges after he collided with Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office cruisers conducting a traffic stop early Sunday morning, according to an LCSO report.

One LCSO patrol vehicle was parked on the shoulder near Route 28 and Church Road around 1:25 a.m. Nov. 3, while another was parked in the travel lane as a safety precaution for the first deputy. A deputy on the scene spotted a vehicle moving rapidly toward the two vehicles and both deputies were able to jump to safety on a concrete wall nearby, according to the report.

That vehicle, driven by Ashburn resident Eric S. Stiber, 26, struck the rear of one cruiser and pushing it into the other cruiser, according to the report. The report also indicated that the cruisers had their lights activated at the time. Neither deputy was injured.
