Fire Destroys Middleburg Home; Damages Estimated at $1M

No injuries were reported in the Saturday night incident.

The Loudoun Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a fire that tore through a home in Middleburg Saturday night and causing an estimated $1 million in damages.

Around 9 p.m. Oct. 19, fire and rescue units from Middleburg, Aldie, Philomont, Round Hill and Fauquier County were dispatched for a house fire on the 23400 block of Korea Lane in Middleburg.

The first units to arrive on the scene reported finding significant fire and smoke coming from the large single-family home, according to a report from Loudoun County Fire, Rescue & Emergency Management. Firefighters took a defensive posture throughout the event because of the extent of the damage and risk of collapse when they arrived.
