Guatemalan Man Sentenced in Loudoun for Forgery

The 26-year-old awaits transfer to federal authorities for deportation proceedings.

 

A 26-year-old Guatemalan man who was sentenced in Loudoun County Circuit Court Jan. 20 on two felony counts of forging public documents and now faces deportation proceedings.

After receiving a tip that Alvaro Delgado-Carreto was producing fraudulent documents for illegal immigrants, undercover investigators with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office posed as potential clients and set up the purchase of fraudulent Resident Alien and Social Security cards.  Once he produced the documents on Sept. 15, 2011, he was arrested.

In 2006, Delgado-Carreto was arrested in Fairfax County and charged with multiple misdemeanor counts of identity theft. He later was convicted only of disorderly conduct. He was most recently being held in the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a federal immigration detainer awaiting transport to federal custody for deportation proceedings.
