UPDATE: LCSO Women’s Self-Defense Workshop Full

Register early because spaces tend to go fast for the class at criminal justice academy in Ashburn.

The Loudoun Sheriff’s Office has planned it 38th Women’s Self-Defense Workshop from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy, 45299 Research Place, in Ashburn.

The LCSO opens the class to all female residents of Loudoun County over the age of fourteen; however, space is limited to 100 participants.

“These free workshops are designed to provide women with the information, tactics, and options on how to protect themselves from becoming a victim,” Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said in a press release.

Participants, who should wear gym-appropriate clothing and athletic shoes, will learn basic self-defense techniques through instruction, demonstration and actual practice of the methods taught.

I think it would be great if they could videotape this...so those of us who can't get in due to rapid fill up....could either order the DVD or....watch it on the local station..or public service network...Thanks!! C. Thee Ashburn, Va

They definitely fill up fast. However, for those who missed it, check with your local martial arts businesses. They often offer a similar program. I know Silver Eagle, Top Kick and Williams have offered such classes. There are plenty of martial arts studios in our directory.
