UPDATE: LCSO Women’s Self-Defense Workshop Full

Register early because spaces tend to go fast for the class at criminal justice academy in Ashburn.

The Loudoun Sheriff’s Office has planned it 38th Women’s Self-Defense Workshop from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy, 45299 Research Place, in Ashburn.

The LCSO opens the class to all female residents of Loudoun County over the age of fourteen; however, space is limited to 100 participants.

“These free workshops are designed to provide women with the information, tactics, and options on how to protect themselves from becoming a victim,” Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said in a press release.

Participants, who should wear gym-appropriate clothing and athletic shoes, will learn basic self-defense techniques through instruction, demonstration and actual practice of the methods taught.
