LCSO Now Has Third Motorcycle Instructor

Recent certification in Maryland adds to number who can provide deputies to proper safety training.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office now has a new in-house motorcycle instructor. Master Deputy Thomas P. Alpy received his certification as an approved motorcycle instructor May 18.

The training included off-road/adverse terrain, advanced riding skills, surmounting obstacles, defensive riding skills, high-speed curve negotiations and instructor training.

“The certification will allow the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Unit to conduct in-house training and will increase the proficiency of our motor unit,” said Major John Fraga of the Operational Support Division.
