LCSO: Eastern Loudoun Encounters With Armed Man Possibly Related

Investigators are seeking witnesses, other information about the incidents, connection to other cases in region.

Two women each reported confrontations an with armed man in eastern Loudoun Sunday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, and investigators believe they could be connected.

Witnesses are being asked to contact authorities if they have not done so.

Around 6:15 a.m. Dec. 29, LCSO deputies responded to the 46500 block of Lynnhaven Square in Sugarland Run where a female reported a man approached her with a gun.

The man demanded that the female drop some items she was holding and remove some of her clothes. She then fled into her home, and later reported that her purse was missing, according to the LCSO report.

Not long after that incident, a man approached a female unloading groceries on the 10200 block of McKean Court in nearby Potomac Falls and pointed a gun at her, according to the LCSO report. The man fled after the woman screamed, according to the report. Nothing was reported taken.

Investigators believe the same man is responsible for both incidents. He is described as a black, around 5-foot-8 with a medium build and in his mid- to late-20s. In both incidents, the man wore a dark hoodie that concealed his faced. It’s possible the man drives a small burgundy or red vehicle.
Authorities in neighboring jurisdictions have been contacted to learn whether similar cases have occurred elsewhere.
