Leesburg Man Charged In Wife's Death

Investigation follows husband's report of injuries from a fall

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office charged Steven H. Combs-Lafleur, 61, with murder after investigating injuries the man told deputies occurred from a fall.

The suspect called 911 around 8:30pm Saturday to report his wife was injured from a fall. Deputies arriving at the home on the 38900 block of Lime Kiln Road reported their opinion that Catherine Ann Combs-Lafleur, 59, likely sustained her injuries from an assault, according a release from the sheriff's office. She died at the scene.

The sheriff's office Criminal Investigations Division conducted an investigation and arrested Steven Combs-Lafleur, 61, on charges of first-degree murder.

Lime Kiln Road is south of Leesburg and west of Ashburn.

The suspect remains confined at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
