The malicious wounding charge followed a March 10 argument in the Lake Ridge area of Prince William County.

Prince William County police charged a Lorton woman with malicious wounding in Lake Ridge after an Ashburn woman reported injuries following an altercation with the Lorton resident, according to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

The Ashburn woman, 21, told police that she was at a home near Luca Station Way in Lake Ridge when she and Amber Todd "became involved in a verbal altercation which escalated physically," according to the police report. Todd then exited the house to drive away, the police report stated.

The victim then reportedly tried to stop Todd from driving away by jumping on top of the vehicle's hood, according to the report, but Todd kept moving and then slammed on her brakes, throwing the victim to the ground.
