Loudoun Deputies Assigned to Presidential Inauguration Security

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has been called upon to help with crowd control duties the event next week.

Members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Civil Disturbance Unit and command staff have been asked to provide security assistance during the Inauguration of President Barack Obama Jan. 21.

The CD Unit – comprised of specially trained deputies trained to handle crowd control – and select members of the agency’s command staff will assist the Metropolitan Police Department along the parade route in Washington, DC.

The cost associated with the mutual aid assistance is funded through a Federal reimbursement to the LCSO.
