Merry Christmas, Officer: Charges Follow Swing at Loudoun Deputy

A Sterling man faces a series of charges after a run with a deputy.

When a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped to question people he spotted along N. Sterling Boulevard at Briar Patch Park just after midnight Dec. 24, two people immediately fled, according to an LCSO report.

As the deputy attempted to take a third person into custody, the man took a swing at the officer, according to the report.

Jose M. Martinez-Fuentes, 19, now faces charges of assault on law enforcement, trespassing, underage possession of alcohol and obstruction of justice.
