Missing Girl, 12, Found Safe (Updated)

Loudoun County Sheriff's deputies continue search.

A 12-year-old girl from Sterling missing for most of the day Tuesday was found safe shortly before 8 p.m. Imani Trinidad Desilva had been last seen at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and reportedly never arrived at school.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office learned Imani was missing around noon Tuesday, according to a release. 

"The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office dedicated numerous resources to the search for the child, including members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team, resources from the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary Unit and received assistance from members of the Virginia State Police to help search the area." the release notes.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office thanked the community for support and assistance.
