More Construction Site Thefts in Loudoun County

Incidents in Aldie just latest batch in larceny trend.

Two more construction site thefts noted by Loudoun County Sheriff's Office are just the latest in a growing trend of these thefts in the county.

On Sunday afternoon, a victim reported that someone had entered a trailer in the 26100 block of Lightridge Farm Road in Aldie. The unknown subject removed a generator belonging to a construction company.

On April 15, building materials were stolen from a construction site of Arlington Oaks Drive in Aldie.

In another Aldie incident, on March 14, tools were stolen from a trailer at a construction site in the 26600 block of Foxwarren Way.

Just days before that incident, March 12, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office reported there had been 29 such thefts from construction sites in the first two months of 2014.

Sheriff Mike Chapman noted at the time that the Sheriff's Office is working with members of the building community, while also asking residents to report suspicious activity.

“If you see a suspicious person or a vehicle on a construction site after dark or during off-hours, be sure to report it immediately,” Chapman said.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office 24-hour-non-emergency line is 703-777-1021.
