Crime Report: Men Arrested at CarMax; Pedestrian Struck

Recent incidents reported by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Department.

Three Men Caught Afterhours at CarMax
Deputies established a perimeter around the CarMax on the 45200 block of Towlern Place after several people were seen in the parking lot around 11:18 p.m. Nov. 6. Then a vehicle attempted to flee the area at a high rate of speed. Three individuals were detained and two other vehicles were found running in the parking. All three vehicles belonged to CarMax. Deputies charged Jonathan V. Lima, 19, of Manassas, with three counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle and two counts of soliciting others to commit a felony. In addition, deputies charged Edgar Orellana, 20, of Manassas, and Brendan V. Luis, 18, of Maryland, with three counts each of unauthorized use of a vehicle and trespassing. All three men were taken into custody and later released on secured bonds.

Reckless Charges Filed after Pedestrian Struck near Junction Plaza
Loudoun County Sheriff’s deputies charged a 53-year-old Ashburn woman with reckless driving after she struck a 49-year-old Ashburn woman who was crossing Crossroads Drive just after 8 a.m. Nov. 11. The driver was heading southbound on Claiborne and attempted to make a left turn onto to Crossroads Drive – which is right behind the Junction Plaza shopping center – when she struck the pedestrian. The victim was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening. Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as factors.

Juveniles Charged with Entering Home without Permission
A resident reported two known juveniles entered a home without permission and damaged some small items on the 21800 block of Windover Drive between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 8. The case is pending, and could result in juvenile petitions.

Suspicious Men Reported at Home on Ladyslipper
A resident on the 21700 block of Ladyslipper Square reported a possible burglary in progress at 6:29 p.m. Nov. 9. The witness reported seeing two subjects running from the backyard of their home. Nothing was reported missing or damaged.

Items Taken from Unlocked Home on Cypress Ridge Terrace
A resident reported that items were taken an unsecured apartment on the 19300 block of Cypress Ridge Terrace between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Nov. 12.
