Police: 3-Car Wreck Requires Airlift Near Lansdowne
A fuel leak required several Route 7 lanes to be closed, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Two people were transported to the hospital, including one airlifted, after a Thursday afternoon wreck on Route 7 near Lansdowne Boulevard, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the crash at 5:47 p.m. Thursday. According to investigators, a 2005 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 22-year-old of Boyce was heading westbound when it struck a 2004 Lincoln Town car, which was then pushed into a 2008 Honda Accord. The impact caused the 4Runner to tun on its side.
The driver of the Lincoln, 28, of Leesburg, was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital and is in stable condition. The driver of the Honda, 47, of Leesburg, was taken to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the 4Runner was treated at the scene.
Several lanes remained closed due to an active fuel leak, according to deputies.
