Boy was crossing the street with his skateboard when he collided with the side of a truck, according to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A boy is expected to recover after he collided with the side of a truck Saturday morning, according to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday, first responders were called to the intersection of Ashburn Village Blvd. and Bruceton Mills Circle regarding a pedestrian struck.

The boy, 12, of Ashburn, was taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to an LCSO release, two boys carrying skateboard were on the sidewalk at the southwest corner of the intersection, waiting to cross Bruceton Mills Circle.

The boys started to proceed across the intersection when the one in front "made contact" with the driver’s side of a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab that was traveling northbound on Ashburn Village Boulevard and waiting to make a left turn onto Bruceton Mills Circle.
