Police: Driver Dies in Car Wreck in Sterling

Incident early Sunday morning after driver lost control of car, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A man died early Sunday in a single-car wreck in Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Craig H. McKee, 81, of Sterling, was transported to Reston Hospital where he died.

At 3:16 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the area of Algonkian Parkway and Quarterpath Trace Circle in Sterling.

According to police, McKee had been driving his 2005 Toyota Prius, heading eastbound on Algonkian Parkway when he lost control. The car crossed the grassy median hit a highway sign and then crossed the westbound lanes of the parkway before the car left the roadway, striking a light pole and several trees.
