Police: Robber Wrestles With Customer at Convenience Store

Suspect eventually fled the scene with nothing, according to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A robber attempting to hold up a Sterling convenience store instead wrestled with a customer before leaving with nothing, according to the Louduon County Sheriff's Office.

Near 8:30 Tuesday morning, an unknown man entered the High Up in the 90 block of Sugarland Run Drive. With his face concealed, the man demanded cash from the clerk. The suspect also had his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun, according to deputies.

The clerk didn't respond to the suspect, and the unknown man then turned toward a customer, who began struggling with the suspect.

Following the struggle, the suspect fled the scene. Deputies describe the suspect as a black male with a medium build. He was wearing dark pants and a hooded jacket.

Deputies note the incident wasn't reported to law enforcement until two hours after it occurred.
