Police: Woman Killed, Husband Charged With First Degree Murder

Maryland couple was traveling in area when argument turned fatal, according to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A woman was killed Tuesday morning and her husband has been arrested in what authorities describe as a domestic-related shooting, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Ruby C. Forde, of Baltimore.

Kelvin N. Forde, 50, of Baltimore, is charged with first degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Deputies received the call at 10:40 a.m. regarding gunfire in the area of Woolsthrope Drive and Hambrick Manor Lane, according to a release. Ruby Forde's body was found at the scene and Kelvin Forde was taken into custody. 

"The husband and wife were reportedly en route from Maryland to visit family in Loudoun County when an altercation ensued," according to Sheriff's Office spokesperson Liz Mills. "The suspect pulled into the area of Woolsthorpe Drive when the shooting took place. The victim lost her life at the scene."
