Search Goes on Three Years Later for Missing Ashburn Mom Bethany Decker

A sad anniversary will pass Wednesday, Jan. 29, for friends and family of Bethany Anne Decker have for three years sought answers about her disappearance.

The last person known to have seen her was a person identified at the time as her boyfriend. Decker was a mother and college student preparing to move out of the Ashburn apartment she shared with her boyfriend when she disappeared.

The disappearance followed a trip to see family with her husband, from whom she was separated.

Decker had family in Fredericksburg and in Maryland, but not in Ashburn.  After growing concerned, her grandparents drove to her apartment on Orchard Grass Terrace on Feb. 19, 2011. Upon finding her car, but no sign of their granddaughter they contacted authorities.

There have been no reported signs of Decker since Jan. 29. Her bank accounts, mobile phones and email have remained inactive. She was registered to continue attending classes at George Mason University, but never showed up. Authorities remain confident she did not leave the country.

Decker remains classified as a missing person.
