Sheriff's Crime Report

Pointing BB guns at deputies, attempted assault and an ICE detainee are among the items in this week's report

Eastern Loudoun Station

Federal Detainee: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for malfunctioning equipment on the 100 block of Commerce Street at 10:07 p.m. Dec. 8. The driver, Hernon Bautista-Nieto, 42, of Greenbelt, MD was determined to have an outstanding administrative warrant of removal from the United States through ICE. Bautista-Nieto remains held at the Loudoun County Sheriff's Adult Detention Center.

Auto Theft: A 2005 Nissan Murano was reported taken from the 46300 block of Shell Terrace between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and 7:32 a.m. Dec. 8. The vehicle was left unlocked with the key inside. As the victim was making the report, the vehicle was located in the area of Geneva Terrace.

Destruction of Property: Seven mailboxes and two stop signs were reported damaged in the 20700 block of Quiet Brook Place and the 46300 block of Shell Terrace between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and 7:32 a.m. Dec. 8. The incidents are related to an auto theft case in Sterling.

Larceny: Two video games were reported taken from a vehicle on the 21200 block of Mirror Ridge Place between 9 p.m. Dec. 8 and 7:15 a.m. Dec. 9.

Attempted Burglary: An unknown subject attempted to enter a residence on the 20 block of Monarch Drive between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9. No entry was made and nothing was taken.

Larceny: An unknown subject entered several vehicles on the 300 block of Silver Ridge Drive between 9 p.m. Dec. 10 and 9:47 a.m. Dec. 11. Loose change and a GPS unit were reported taken.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: A vehicle reported stolen from Fairfax County was located abandoned on the 20900 block of Dulles Town Circle at 5:38 p.m. Dec. 11.

Destruction of Property: Four inflatable Christmas decorations were reported damaged on Braxton Drive between 10:30 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. Dec. 12.

Brandishing: Deputies were on foot patrol in the 45600 block of Grand Central Square at 2:16 a.m. Dec. 11 when they heard a loud noise. The deputies observed two male subjects who both appeared to be carrying firearms. One subject had what appeared to be a rifle and pointed it in the direction of the deputies. The second subject had what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband. As the deputies approached, the second subject reached for the weapon. The subjects were taken into custody and disarmed. Both weapons were determined to be BB guns. Both subjects were charged with brandishing a firearm.

Larceny: A drill, laptop and sunglasses were reported taken from a vehicle on the 46600 block of Welton Terrace between 7 p.m. Dec. 12 and 7 a.m. Dec. 13. The passenger side window was damaged to gain entry. A second vehicle located on the 46500 block of Hollymead Place was entered in a similar method. An MP3 player was reported taken.

Destruction of Property: Twelve green poles, flood lights and two pedestrian crossing signs were reported damaged in the area of Olympic Boulevard and Lanier Island between midnight and 7 a.m. Dec. 11. The damaged items are the property of the River Creek Homeowners Association.

Larceny: A laptop and GPS unit were removed from a vehicle on the 21100 block of Millwood Square between 6 p.m. Dec. 13 and 7 a.m. Dec. 14.

 

University Station

Suspicious Event: A 9-year-old and 10-year-old were walking from the bus stop at the corner of Old Kinderhook Drive and Medalist Drive at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9 when an unknown subject approached them in a vehicle and offered them a ride. The vehicle was described as a tan two-door car and the driver was an adult male with light tan skin, in his 30s, with black medium length curly hair and possibly having a Spanish accent. Deputies patrols have been assigned to the area.

Auto Theft: Deputies responded to a property damage accident on Ferncliff Terrace where a vehicle had struck a parked motorcycle. The vehicle, a 2008 Subaru, was unattended and determined to be stolen from the 43600 block of Dunhill Cup Square between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Dec. 11. Several destruction of property cases (mailboxes/tree) were called in during the day that are believed to be related to this case.

Larceny: A GPS unit and satellite radio were reported taken from a vehicle on the 44000 block of Gala Circle between 9 p.m. Dec. 10 and 9 a.m. Dec. 11.

Larceny: A GPS unit was reported taken from a vehicle on the 43700 block of Middlebrook Terrace between 6 p.m. Dec. 10 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 11.

Burglary: Unknown subject(s) entered a residence on the 19400 block of Mill Dam Place at 9 a.m. Dec. 12. A lockbox was reported taken. 

Larceny: A purse was reported taken from a vehicle on the 20099 block of Ashbrook Place at 9:51 p.m. Dec. 14. A window was damaged on the vehicle.

 

Dulles South Station

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: A 1995 Acura was recovered from a construction site on the 27600 block of Gum Spring Road at 1:32 p.m. Dec. 8. The vehicle had heavy front-end damage. The car was determined to be stolen from Prince George's County, MD.

Enter Dwelling to Commit Assault: A 22-year-old male reported several known subjects entering his residence on the 24900 block of Pinebrook Road at 6:40 p.m. Dec. 10. Vernon L. Miles, 19, of Aldie, and Brian A. Orr, 18, of Chantilly, were both charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit assault and simple assault by mob. Orr was also charged with possession of marijuana. Both men remain held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Burglary: A set of golf clubs was reported taken from an open garage on the 42500 block of Longacre Drive at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 11. A green Ford Taurus was observed leaving the area around the time of the incident.

Auto Crash: Deputies responded to a vehicle overturned and abandoned in water at the intersection of Tall Cedars Parkway and Eastgate View Drive at 8:52 a.m. Dec. 11. The owner and occupants were found shortly after the call and were determined to be uninjured. The driver reported wiping off a window, running off the road, hitting a tree, overturning and landing in shallow water. Driver was unsure of reporting procedures and has been charged with reckless driving.

Larceny: Copper fittings were reported taken from a construction site on the 26000 block of Ticonderoga Road between 3 p.m. Dec. 11 and 6:30 a.m. Dec. 13. A lock was damaged to remove the items from a container.

Larceny: Construction material was reported taken from a construction site on the 42600 block of Windflower Drive between 4 p.m. Dec. 10 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 13.
