Sterling Teen Hospitalized, Charged Following Old Ox Crash

Three-vehicle accident occurred during Monday's morning rush.

A 17-year-old Sterling girl faces a charge of failure to yield the right of way after a crash along Old Ox Road Monday, Jan. 27.

A 1993 Ford truck heading westbound on Old Ox Road (Route 606) around 8:30 a.m. Monday struck a 2004 Toyota Corolla at Stukely Drive in Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The Toyota had a stop sign, yet proceeded onto Old Ox despite the oncoming truck, according to the report. The truck struck the Toyota, sending the car spinning counterclockwise into the eastbound lane of Old Ox Road. At that point, a 1993 Kenilworth dump truck struck the Toyota.

The teenager driver of the Toyota, of Sterling, was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Deputies charged her with failing to yield the right of way.
