Suspect Charged in Arcola Methodist Burglary

Man of unknown address lands in Fairfax jail for unrelated charges.

Stealing from churches has landed one suspect in jail, accused of burglarizing houses of worship in Leesburg and Arcola, among other crimes. Members of the Leesburg Police Department worked with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office to crack to the case.

The first incident occurred June 13, when someone broke into the Arcola Methodist Church on Evergreen Mills Road and took various items, including a laptop and televisions. A similar incident occurred at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Leesburg during the June 25-26 weekend.

Someone called the Leesburg Crime Line with a tip about the suspect, which led to charges against Brent Andrew Morgan, 30, for burglary and possession of burglarious tools. Leesburg detectives also charged Morgan, of no fixed address, with grand larceny related to a previous theft from a residence where he was staying in Leesburg.
