Suspect Wanted for Felony Child Abuse in Custody

The U.S. Marshals Service assisted with the arrest Monday in Frederick County, Maryland.

The U.S. Marshals Service and the Frederick County Sheriff's Office in Maryland on Monday took John Thomas Gallihugh into custody in Frederick County. Gallihugh, 30, was wanted for felony child abuse.

Loudoun County Sheriff's Investigators issued a warrant for Gallihugh, a Loudoun County resident with no fixed address, after they learned in October 2011 that a 3-year-old boy received physical injuries from the suspect. Gallihugh also has a criminal capias for failure to appear in court for an assault and battery of an adult that occurred in June 2011.

Authorities learned the suspect was in the Frederick County area this morning and apprehended him. Gallihugh remains at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center awaiting extradition to Loudoun.
