Theft from Vehicles Dominates Crime Report

Incidents from the Loudoun Sheriff's Crime Report.

Vehicles continue to be targets for crime around Loudoun, particularly theft. Cash, cameras, GPS devices are among the most common items taken.

  • Larceny: A GPS, digital camera and other items were reported taken from a vehicle on the 46300 block of McClellan Way between 6 p.m. July 6 and 8:45 a.m. July 7. The driver’s side door was damaged to gain entry.
  • Larceny: Cash was reported taken from a vehicle on the 46900 block of Shady Point Square between 11 p.m. July 6 and 10 a.m. July 7. The keys to the vehicle were left on top of the car while the owner was unloading items and were likely used to gain entry.
  • Larceny: Vehicle parts were reported taken from a vehicle on the 25300 block of Pleasant Valley Road at 12:01 a.m. July 6.
  • Destruction of Property: Several items were reported taken from a vehicle on the 20000 block of Coltsfoot Terrace at 12:01 a.m. July 7. A window was damaged to gain entry.
  • Burglary: Three teenagers were identified after Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Little River Elementary School for a report of a burglary in progress at 4:43 a.m. July 7. The incident remains under investigation and petitions/charges are pending.
  • Burglary: A television was reported taken from a residence on the 18700 block of Upper Meadow Drive between 6:30 p.m. July 6 and 2 p.m. July 7. The house is currently under renovation. There were no signs of forced entry.
  • Tampering With a Vehicle: The glove box on a vehicle was reported damaged on the 43200 block of Clearnight Terrace between midnight and 9:51 p.m. July 7. Nothing was reported taken.
  • Larceny: A GPS and a digital camera were reported taken from a vehicle on the 42800 block of Hay Road at 1:50 a.m. July 8.
