Four Charged in Sterling Stabbing Incident

Herndon, Sterling Men Charged After Friday Night Community Plaza Mob Assault

UPDATE, Nov. 16, 2:05pm:

Two more men have been charged in connection with mob assault and stabbing that occurred in Sterling on Friday night.

Alexander Garcia, 25, and Matias C. Garcia, 20, both of Sterling, were charged today with simple assault by mob, a misdemeanor, and assault by mob, a felony.  On Friday two other men, Manuel O. Rivera, 26, of Herndon, and Christopher A. Bryant, 21, of Sterling, were charged in the case.

The charges stem from an assault and stabbing that occurred at about 11:40 p.m. in the 46900 block of Community Plaza. A 17-year-old male from Sterling and a 20-year-old male from Ashburn were walking in the area when several assailants attacked them. The 17-year-old was stabbed during the assault, according to police.

Deputies responded to Reston Hospital after the 17-year-old victim arrived at the emergency room. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening. The 20-year-old did not receive serious injuries.

Investigators discovered the identity of several suspects, and further arrests are likely.

All four men are being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office charged two men Nov. 14 for involvement in a mob assault and stabbing that occurred in Sterling this past Friday.

 Manuel O. Rivera, 26, of Herndon, and Christopher A. Bryant, 21, of Sterling, were charged with simple assault by mob, a misdemeanor, and assault by mob, a felony.

The charges stem from a Nov. 12 incident that occurred around 11:40pm in the 46900 block of Community Plaza. A 17-year-old male from Sterling and a 20-year-old male from Ashburn were walking in the area when they were approached by several unknown subjects. The subjects began assaulting the two victims and the 17-year-old was stabbed during the assault.

Officials from Reston Hospital contacted deputies after the 17-year-old victim arrived at the emergency room suffering from stab wounds. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening. The 20-year-old did not receive serious injuries from the assault.

A subsequent investigation led to the identity of several suspects in the case. The assault remains under investigation and further arrests are likely.

Rivera and Bryant both remain held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
